An IT engineer by academics, I have 8+ years of experience working in the travel industry, while managing IT projects simultaneously as my passion.

I started my professional career at Arcadia Travels Pvt. Ltd., one of the trusted names in the travel space, as a ticketing counter executive. Given my quick learning, analytical approach, speed of execution, and strong people management skills, I climbed up the ranks rather quick, going on to supervise and eventually manage entire office operations. This early exposure gave me a good grasp on the functioning of the business - from ticketing to visas, forex and accounting, ensuring we stay profitable and take timely actions to stay ahead of the competition. I have also single handedly planned and led successful group tours of 98 people for Hajj for 5 consecutive years.

While working in the travel industry, my keen interest in IT continued to flourish and I used it to launch the B2B online portal for Arcadia Travels. From designing weekly mailers (on Photoshop) for Email marketing to designing, coding and managing www.arcadia-travels.com & www.ahmerk.me websites (in development www.fineartbynaz.com, www.movementdisorderneurologist.com and www.stylestatementstore.com) - I continue to lead the IT operations as well.

Due to Covid19 pandemic outbreak, the ongoing travel bans have greately impacted the travel industry worldwide. I took this time to my advantage and fetched myself a job in my long lost interest - Android. It was not easy to get into Android after almost 8 years of internship but with my hard work and dedication it didn’t take more than 10 days to revise all old concepts, research new ones and eventually convince my employer what potential I possess. Currently I am employed as a full time Android Developer working remotely for an IT solutions firm headquartered in Kuwait
